Wellcraft’s new 28ft models

Wellcraft has revealed three new 28ft models designed to broaden its global offering and appeal to a wide range of boaters. The new line-up includes the Wellcraft 28 Speedster, Wellcraft 28 T-Top and Wellcraft 28 Explorer, each built on the same advanced hull platform but tailored to different on-water lifestyles. The models offer open-air boating, shaded protection or a fully enclosed wheelhouse for longer-range exploration

The Wellcraft 28 T-Top and Wellcraft 28 Explorer made their World Premiere at boot Düsseldorf 2026.  The North American debut was scheduled for the Miami International Boat Show 2026, however, due to severe weather delays impacting overseas freight transport, unfortunately the Wellcraft 28 will not be there.

Flexible cockpit layouts for shared boating

A key feature of the new 28-foot range is the modular aft cockpit, offered in four configurations. The standard Lounge layout seats up to 13 people, including nine forward-facing seats designed for safety at speed. The Barracuda layout focuses on fishing, with fold-up seating, live well, fish box, bait storage and rod holders.

The Relax layout, available on the 28 T-Top and 28 Speedster, introduces a large sunbed with concealed storage, while the Sleeper layout, exclusive to the Explorer, adds overnight accommodation with two berths and exterior lounging space.

Performance, safety and confidence

All three models benefit from Wellcraft Infujection Structure Engineering (W.I.S.E.) technology, creating a lighter and stronger structure with an improved power-to-weight ratio. Developed in partnership with Helsinki-based stepped-hull specialist Navia, the hull delivers fast planing, confident rough-water handling and speeds exceeding 50 knots with single or twin outboards.

Safety features include a closed transom, high bulwarks, oversized handrails, forward-facing seating and a one-level walkaround deck. NMMA certification underlines the boats’ focus on confidence and capability.
