US production changes announced by Groupe Beneteau

Groupe Beneteau has announced plans to halt production at its Cadillac, Michigan facility during Q3 2026, as part of what it describes as a targeted adaptation of selected US activities.

The decision follows the company’s Supervisory Board meeting on 11 June 2026 and includes a planned divestiture of the Cadillac site, together with the Four Winns, Glastron and Scarab Jet brands. Groupe Beneteau said a search for potential buyers is underway.

Four Winns, Glastron and Scarab Jet affected

According to the company, the operation affects three brands that represented less than 5% of Group revenue in 2025. Groupe Beneteau said after-sales service and spare parts supply will be maintained until the divestiture is finalised, in order to ensure service continuity for owners and distributors.

The Group said the decision was based on weakness in the bowrider and jet boat segments, which it said have been in decline for several years, and on what it described as a deterioration in the geopolitical situation since the start of the Middle East conflict in March 2026.

The company also stated that its American brands recorded around €30 million in cumulative operating losses over the 2024 and 2025 fiscal years.

Group to focus on seven strategic brands

Groupe Beneteau said the move does not alter its ambitions in the American market. Instead, it said the decision is intended to concentrate resources on seven strategic brands: Beneteau, Jeanneau, Prestige, Excess, Lagoon, Wellcraft and Delphia.

While this difficult decision is rational, we are aware of what it represents for each member of the Cadillac site team. The teams have demonstrated exemplary commitment. What we owe them today is clarity, respect and support worthy of what they have given the Group.

Yannick Madiot, General Manager of the Dayboating Business Unit

The Group said it will continue adapting its cost structure while pursuing its product innovation plan. It expects 24 new models to be launched in 2026, following 23 launches in 2025.

These choices result from a market environment durably affected by a geopolitical context beyond our control. Our responsibility is to act with lucidity and transparency to preserve our Group’s capacity to invest, innovate and rebound, while supporting with respect and responsibility each of our employees. With 140 years of history, Groupe Beneteau has the fundamentals and culture to navigate this period without abandoning what has made its strength throughout its history: innovation, the expertise of our teams and our territorial roots.
