Nimbus unveils Sport Tender 35 as first model in new Sport Cruiser series

Nimbus has unveiled the Sport Tender 35 at Cannes Yachting Festival 2026, the debut model in its new Sport Cruiser 35 series. According to Nimbus, the boat is designed around the people who come aboard rather than only the person at the helm and sets the direction for the brand’s Sport Cruiser range just as the 495 Flybridge does for its Coupé Cruisers. The new series comprises three models on a single hull: the Sport Tender, Sport Weekender and Sport Coupé.

Every Nimbus begins with the same question, the company says: how a day onboard actually looks and feels, from waking to turning for home. On the Sport Tender 35, that means integrated canvas side canopies that fold away in seconds, sun beds that open fore and aft, and hull sides that fold out into balconies down to the water.

The 35 has two living spaces that Nimbus describes as multifunctional, changing shape through the day. The foredeck works as a secure surface for boarding and handling ropes, and as two sun lounge areas around two metres across, with seating for up to eight. Lockers run to the bow with click-fit latches, and a fixed bow ladder makes stepping ashore easier.

The aft deck centres on a built-in U-sofa seating six, its three-part backrest folding flat into a sun bed, into a sofa, or outward over the fold-out balconies. A split galley, with a 65-litre fridge and an optional 70-litre fridge under the sofa, lets people move through the boat and be served without going below.

Below deck, two cabins sleep five: a full-length double forward, two full-length berths in the mid-cabin, and a sofa that takes a child. The head has a shower, a toilet and a washbasin. The layout lets people move from bow to stern without climbing over anything, so the whole boat can be used by everyone aboard.

The Sport Tender 35 rides on a newly developed, air-lubricated twin-stepped hull, vacuum-infused around a Divinycell core. Nimbus introduced the stepped hull with its Nova R series in 2000, refining it since; the new hull runs dry and stays composed in rough weather, Nimbus says. A single laminate structure runs from behind the helm to the roof, with a standard, integrated T-top and built-in lighting and sound system, and a helm layout inherited from the 495 Flybridge.

The 35 is offered with a single V10 or twin V8 outboards. It cruises between 30 and 36 knots and exceeds 40 knots at the top, around 45 knots with the twin V8, though Nimbus says final performance figures will be confirmed once Mercury has verified them on the water. CEO Johan Inden describes the Sport Tender 35 as “a Sport Cruiser with the comfort of a Coupé,” built on design language Nimbus has developed since 1968.
