Nimbus Sport Tender 35 and 42 make UK debut at Southampton boat show

Nimbus is bringing two models to Southampton International Boat Show for their UK debut: the Sport Tender 35, on stand M314, and the Sport Tender 42, on stand M320. According to Nimbus, both are day boats designed around time spent on the water with family and friends.

Since its reveal, the Sport Tender 35 has spent its first season on the water on Sweden’s west coast, where early testing and photography took place in the Bohuslän archipelago. Performance figures have now been confirmed. In sea trials carried out by Mercury Marine in August, a Sport Tender 35 fitted with twin Verado V8 300 outboards reached a top speed of 48.5 knots, accelerated from 0 to 25 knots in 9.9 seconds, and returned a cruising figure of 32 knots at 2.5 litres per nautical mile. The Sport Tender 35 can be ordered through Nimbus dealers now.

Nimbus says a good day on the water is rarely about the person at the wheel. It is about everyone who comes along: the children, the friends, the one pouring coffee while someone else drops the anchor or takes a dip. The Sport Tender 35 was designed around that day, and everything else followed. The boat is described as a clear expression of the Scandinavian design philosophy that has guided Nimbus since 1968, where every choice answers to the people on board and the life they live there.

The Sport Tender 35 is an all-new model on a newly developed twin-stepped hull, and will set the future direction for its Sport Cruisers in the same way the award-winning 495 Flybridge has done for the Coupé Cruisers. It is the first of three models sharing the new hull in the Sport Cruiser 35 series, alongside the Sport Weekender and Sport Coupé.

The Sport Tender 42 is also making its UK debut at Southampton. Nimbus told PB it as a day boat for full days, built for the kind of day where the boat itself is the destination: a morning swim, lunch in the cockpit at anchor, friends arriving by tender for the afternoon, and a long cruise back as the light shifts.
