Buying Costs Soar, Rentals Remain Affordable

The cost of owning a beach hut has reached record highs this summer, with the national average exceeding £45,000 and Dorset prices averaging £102,451. In some cases, such as Mudeford in Dorset, huts can top £450,000. Despite this, renting a hut remains one of the most affordable ways to enjoy the British seaside.

While the cost of buying a beach hut can be considerable, especially in sought-after locations such as Mudeford in Dorset….renting a hut for a few days is still one of the cheapest ways to enjoy a seaside holiday in the UK.  As a last-minute staycation venue, few places can beat a beach hut for value.

Johanna Jernberg - Holiday expert from BeachHuts.com

At Branksome Chine in Dorset, huts are available for as little as £30 per day, even in August. With this summer’s heatwave driving spontaneous bookings, demand for huts is booming.

Shade, Sea Views and Comfort

Renting offers both shade and prime seafront access. A hut provides space to change in privacy, store belongings, enjoy meals without sand, and relax with a book or chilled drink. As Jernberg notes, when temperatures soar past 30 degrees, an open-fronted hut is the ideal seaside retreat.
