Reputedly the world’s lightest 10kW electric outboard set to make UK debut at Southampton

The Zparq Z10 electric outboard motor will make its UK debut at the Southampton International Boat Show, appearing on the Electric Outboard stand (L122) in Lake Park this year.

Developed in Sweden, the Zparq Z10 is described by Electric Outboard as the world’s lightest 10kW electric outboard motor. The short-shaft version weighs just 15.2kg plus its mounting bracket, while the long-shaft model weighs 17kg. Electric Outboard says the key to the Z10’s slim profile and low-volume, direct-drive motor pod is its patented Hyperflow Cooling™ system.

While conventional electric motors often rely on heavy and complex cooling systems, Hyperflow Cooling™ uses the surrounding water to cool the motor directly. The result, according to Electric Outboard, is a compact, lightweight motor that delivers high performance with few moving parts and minimal maintenance.

Other features of the Z10 include built-in electric tilt and trim, a mobile app with several smart features, and the ability to combine multiple battery packs to extend range.

The Zparq Z10 will be on display on the Electric Outboard stand (L122) in Lake Park at the Southampton International Boat Show, and will be available in the UK from early 2027.
