Following a successful season opener in Lake Toba, Indonesia in February the championship now heads to Qui Nhon-Binh Dinh Province, Vietnam for the second round of the World championship over the 29th to 31st March.
Jelf who is competing in his second full season is the only British racer in the championship and is the second driver in the F1 Atlantic team along with Portuguese team legend Duarte Benavente.
Indonesia saw Jelf take bronze in the sprint race and eighth in the Grand Prix Race to see him currently sitting sixth in the World Championship table and ready for the battle ahead that lies in Vietnam.
The inaugural Vietnam Grand Prix of Binh Dinh sees eighteen of the World’s Top powerboat racers and their teams make the journey all in a bid for championship points towards the 2024 World Championship crown.
The competition will start on Friday when the teams take to the water for Free Practice followed by the all-important Qualifying session to determine the starting grid for the Grand Prix of Binh Dinh Race.
Saturday will see the fleet of racers split into two as they compete in shorter sprint races looking for podium finishes but also using the time to get used to the course and conditions at high speed.
Sunday will see all the teams take to the water for the final practice session before they line up for the Grand Prix of Binh Dinh, Vietnam, and all vying for a podium finish.
On the forthcoming competition Jelf had this to say “I cannot wait to compete in Vietnam, these are the things my dreams are made of! The team have been working hard as always and we proved in Indonesia we have the pace so now we can build on that and hopefully we can secure some more championship points and begin to reap the rewards of the hard work.”
He continued “I am still relatively new to the F1H2O series, so we are still learning and every time I get in the boat and on the water, we learn something new. The boat felt really good in Indonesia, and I have a talented team and sponsors behind me so we will be looking for a good result on Sunday Morning in Vietnam!”
