Biocide-free silicone antifouling paint tops European study
Chalmers-led research found biocide-free silicone antifouling paint performed best against hull fouling in Swedish, Danish and French coastal waters.
Amsterdam, 11 March 2025 – Metstrade is seeking nominations for the 2025 DAME Design Awards charity donation, supporting a leisure marine-related cause. Registered charities involved in marine conservation, education, or similar initiatives can apply to become this year’s beneficiary.
The selected charity will receive a financial contribution and industry exposure. Since 2008, the awards have donated over €250,000 to various causes, with last year’s recipient, SailWise, using funds to upgrade docks with sustainable materials.
Niels Klarenbeek, Director of Metstrade, emphasised the initiative’s role in strengthening the marine sector’s social and environmental impact.
Applications must be submitted online by 2 May 2025, with the chosen charity announced in mid-June. The donation will be presented at Metstrade’s opening ceremony on 19 November 2025, at the RAI Amsterdam.
